How Easy is It to Break a Samsung Phone Charger
'They are more problematic than the ones before. The pin is thinner, so it's easy to break. Once it bends, you can't really use it. I know you're meant to put it in gently, but people tend to shove it in and then the pin breaks. We get a lot of customers coming to buy new chargers; I suppose it's good for us in that respect,' one dealer said. Another added: 'They do break a lot easier. We've had people returning them.' Some dealers said around half of their Nokia customers come back reporting a broken charger while one dealer claims that 90% of his accessory sales are to replace broken Nokia chargers. 'People tell me that they just stop working. The pin itself looks fine, but it doesn't work inside,' he said. A Nokia spokesman said the company was 'puzzled by the report'. 'At the end of the day, there are no issues that we're aware of around that plug, barring mistreatment by the user,' he said. He added that the smaller pins are due to customer demand for thinner products. I must admit to being rather puzzled by this i mean you don't need to force it in it's a smooth and easy action, just what are some of these people doing to break so many whilst trying t charge their phones? Personally i find attaching these charges easier than many other types with weird connectors that require careful positioning to make proper contact. Marc btw ive charged my phone up 3 times since ive had it and no problems there, haven't used it in a month neither This message was posted from a N70-1 This message was posted from a 6300 6233 was the worst if i remember correctly... _________________ This message was posted from a WAP device This message was posted from a 6300 people are idiots, what can you do? Mine after 2 months use is still as good as day one. It gets used every other day and is scrumpled up in my draw..... Here's the JIST of my Experience since I don't see many intelligent comments here. I was pretty upset that I had to buy a new car charger and couldn't use the old ones. They've used the old ones on almost all of there models in the past, which was convenient. My Nokia car charger has since stopped working after about a year. My logic tells me that the contact inside the pin has been warn off somehow and is no longer making contact. How do I know? I bought a new one and when I plug it in I can feel it snap into place. With the broken one, there is no more snap. Seems like the more you plug it in and out and the more you talk on the phone with it plugged in and dangling from the side the faster the contact will wear off. Hence the car charger is dead cause I use it very often. The side mount is probably so it won't slip off when held up right, say when mounted on your car or someplace. I hate it, it puts alot of pressure on the pin while talking and always gets in my way! Bad Nokia. My wall charger that came with the phone is still working cause I don't use it often and when I do it's for long periods which is why it is still working but I now am starting to feel the snapping go away and my guess it will eventually lose contact and not charge. Bottom line try not to use your car charger while talking and don't charge it if you dont have to, charge it at home overnight. This comment my friends does the best justice for anyone that has a broken nokia small pin charger and upset enough to look up this thread! Damn again nokia. I hope they see my thread. I use to love my old nokias now it seems they are losing loyal customers and fans. The N82 without the up to date features like WIFI, etc sucks compared to older model phones that were so easy to use and so cleverly put together. Iphone 3GS here I come! Dealers are reporting a high level of Nokia charger returns as many customers are finding the manufacturer's newer 'thin pin' chargers breaking soon after purchase.

we have a 3310 charger and my friend got a new charger....i compared it...its really really thin

I have a thin one, using it for 10 months without any problem.
Just don't shove it in, how hard is it to not do that?

Hi all,

Finally! I agree 10 000% with that!!
Gonna send it to the idiots at Nokio SA!!!

i agree with Dogmann, what are people doing to break them!?

yep, my first e61 charger lasted 4 days... but not the pin actually - some internal damage! But I can see how that flimsy thing might bend... a bit silly! I LIKE the one on my treo (which isn't thicker than the e61
): very sturdy!

My N95's charger is really weird looking it's one of those Energy saving ones and the pin is tiny, the cord flex is like a piece of string

no problems here.think it's more of a user error myself.you simply slide it in, not rock it from side to side.

When i used to have a T Mobile 6233 i had trod on my charges which was on the floor and it stopped working it would not charge. Though i am normally very careful when it comes to my phones but it was an accident. I have had no problems with my 6300 though i do find the new chargers wobble a bit when plugged in which worries me but as long as my phone is ok i can always buy new charger. So far all my Nokias have been reliable.

I have an N82 and I hate the smaller pin and side location. Nokia is blaming the users??!!! Come on it's hard not to think its a marketing scheme. Switch to smaller pin that NO OTHER PHONE USES, and what? "there's a demand for slimmer devices?" come on!! - Man that previous larger pin is taking way too much space! HA! I can see the forums, "Nokia Please make the pins smaller!!! I need smaller pins!!"

I think its sometimes not the pin but the wire inside is also really thin too. But some Nokia phones charge using usb charging port.
